
November 28, 2025, Governor's Office, Uttarakhand, Raj Bhavan, Dehradun Cantt – Today, the Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, met with Colonel Tejinder Pal Tyagi, recipient of the Vir Chakra and National President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Mr. Rajan Chhibber, National Convener of the Economic Council, and Colonel Rajesh Tyagi, District President of Meerut. He stated that all state presidents/conveners of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha should be given time-bound responsibilities. They should be asked to expand the organization and appoint distinguished ex-servicemen and patriotic citizens from their respective states as district presidents.
The Honorable Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, said that the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha is far more dynamic and results-oriented than any other ex-servicemen's organization today. ??Many prominent figures from across the country are joining the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha. He mentioned that today, former Army Commander Lieutenant General A.K. Singh, Rishi Babbar (recipient of the Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra), renowned environmentalist Shri Kalyan Singh Rawat (Padma Shri), and Commander Deepak Khanduri have joined the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha. He also suggested that if any state president is unable to fulfill their responsibilities for any reason, they should be respectfully requested to reconsider, and alternative arrangements should also be considered.
The Honorable Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, also stated that he is planning to meet with 25-30 office bearers of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun, in the last week of January 2026.
