March 16, 2026 | Registered Headquarters, Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha | 133-B Model Town East, Ghaziabad – Today, Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi (Vir Chakra awardee) — National President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha — announced that Ishan Tyagi, the National Convener of the Sanstha's Sports Wing and an IIT alumnus, has embarked on a mission to teach football to children attending composite government schools, having resigned from his job with the Boston Group in the USA to do so. This initiative commenced in Ghaziabad. Although the project initially faced numerous hurdles posed by the administration and school principals, the situation eventually turned around. Once jerseys and shoes were distributed to the children, and after students from a few schools were provided with training and given the opportunity to compete at the divisional and state levels, the initiative culminated in the participation of children from 100 composite government schools—all belonging to extremely low-income families—in the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Football League. This achievement is now receiving lavish praise from the administration.
Ishan Tyagi asserts that, in the spirit of Swami Vivekananda, it is more vital for the youth to play football than to merely read the *Gita*, as it is through sports that character building, team spirit, and leadership qualities are truly cultivated. Relevant reports regarding this initiative are attached herewith.
During a CSR-related seminar organized by the Ghaziabad administration at a 5-star hotel, Chief Development Officer Mr. Abhinav Gopal and other dignitaries lauded the efforts to generate interest in football among government school children, provide them with training, and elevate their skills to a level where students from 100 schools are now actively participating in a football league. Terming this achievement highly commendable, they extended their congratulations to Ishan Tyagi, the Convener of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha's Sports Wing.
