April 30, 2026 – District Headquarters, Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Kargil Chowk, Vaishali – A meeting of the senior members of the Ghaziabad District Unit was held here today. District President and Veteran Gaurav Senani Gyan Singh stated that one of the objectives of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha is to raise a voice against social evils prevalent in society. He noted that the hydraulic platforms and pressurized sprinklers currently available at the Ghaziabad Fire Department have a reach limited to buildings of up to 14 stories. However, buildings reaching up to 30 stories are currently being constructed in Ghaziabad. The operational shortcomings of the Fire Department were starkly exposed during the Indirapuram fire incident, where fire tenders were compelled to conduct operations from a distance of 70 meters. The fire that broke out at the Gaur Green Avenue Society in Indirapuram has raised several critical questions. Consequently, a demand is being put forth that the approval of building plans and construction work for high-rise structures—for which adequate firefighting resources are currently unavailable—be immediately halted.
Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi (Vir Chakra awardee), the National President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, suggested that every flat should be equipped with a fire extinguisher. The cost of a single fire extinguisher is approximately ?4,000. Every flat owner should take the initiative to purchase a fire extinguisher for their own safety and protection. To kickstart this campaign, Mr. Tarun Chauhan and Mr. B.P.S. Bhatia announced that they would personally provide fire extinguishers within their own residential association.
A formal request will be submitted to the Fire Officer, urging him to depute representatives to various residential societies to provide training on the proper operation of fire extinguishers during emergency situations.
