

Mahamaya Stadium, Ghaziabad, July 26 — The third edition of the Kargil Vijay Diwas Football Tournament, organized by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Sports Wing and Stepover Academy under the leadership of Ishan Tyagi, concluded today at Mahamaya Stadium. This year, 19 school teams (13 boys' and 6 girls' teams) participated; a total of 160 students played 32 matches over the course of the two-day event. Notably, girls' teams participated in the tournament for the first time this year, marking a historic milestone for the initiative.
The event's chief guest, Dr. Richa Sood, addressed the students and inspired them by highlighting the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and persistent effort.
Veterans and members of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha—including Gyan Singh, Chandan Singh, Ganesh Dutt, Om Pal, V.P. Sharma, Pradhan Ji, Rajendra Tripathi, Pandey Ji, D.K. Das, patriot Pushkar Bisht, Ajay Kumar, and others—honored the players in the girls' category:
? The 'Best Goalkeeper' trophy, named after Shaheed (Martyr) Naik Om Prakash, was awarded to Ms. Ashu from Gandhi Nagar.
? The 'Highest Scorer' trophy, named after Shaheed Naik Chaman Singh, was awarded to Anjali from CS Madhuban Bapu Dham.
? The 'Best Midfielder' trophy, named after Shaheed Yashpal, was awarded to Aarushi from CS Madhuban Bapu Dham.
? The 'Best Defender' trophy, named after Shaheed Naik Ratna Singh, was awarded to Pinky from Arthala Composite School.
