August 28, 2026, 17 Akbar Road, New Delhi: Today, Smt. Savitri Singh, wife of the Hon'ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, tied a Rakhi to Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi (Vir Chakra awardee), the National President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha. On this occasion, Colonel Tyagi requested that disability pensions be granted to cadets who become disabled during training and are subsequently boarded out of service. These young men had dreamt of wearing the uniform because they wished to defend the nation. Unfortunately, after suffering severe disabilities during training, the very system to which they had set out to dedicate their futures leaves them in a state where they can neither advance in military service nor lead a normal life.
